GDPR. On 25th May 2018 the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) became effective. The GDPR applies to processing of personal information carried out by organisations operating within the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA). It also applies to organisations outside the EU/EEA that offer goods or services to individuals within the EU/EEA. At Tinius Olsen we have always taken data security and privacy extremely seriously and believe that the GDPR is an important step forward in clarifying and enabling individual privacy rights. As such we are committed to GDPR compliance and, together with Tinius Olsen’s group of Company’s, have undertaken a number of actions in order to ensure we are compliant when the regulation came into effect on 25th May 2018. Tinius Olsen Ltd has reviewed and amended policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the new legislation, to include new and enhanced individual rights in relation to personal data processed under the GDPR. We are ensuring that where we believe there is risk of non-compliance, that relevant steps are taken to remove that risk.
